Vehicle and Fleet Valuation in Ukraine

The Kanzas company provides independent valuation of vehicles in Ukraine: passenger cars, trucks and commercial vehicles, road and special machinery and agricultural machinery — from a single vehicle to the entire corporate fleet of an enterprise. We have been valuing vehicles for over 20 years as part of transactions, lending, leasing and financial reporting.

When vehicle valuation is required

  • purchase and sale of vehicles;
  • collateral for bank lending and leasing;
  • contribution of vehicles to share capital;
  • recognition of vehicles in the balance sheet and revaluation of fixed assets, including under IFRS;
  • insurance;
  • litigation and division of property;
  • damage assessment, including losses caused by hostilities in Ukraine.

Data and documents required

  • make, model and trim level;
  • year of manufacture and date of commissioning;
  • mileage;
  • technical specifications;
  • records of repairs and technical inspections;
  • information on involvement in road accidents.

For corporate fleets, accounting data on the book value of the vehicles is also required. The earlier the documents are provided, the faster the valuation is completed.

Depreciation and obsolescence of vehicles

Most vehicles submitted for valuation come from the secondary market. Their value reflects three layers of loss. Physical deterioration results from operating conditions, mileage and weather exposure. Functional obsolescence is driven by the development of the automotive market and the arrival of newer models. Economic (external) obsolescence reflects exchange rates, inflation and the overall state of the economy. Our appraisers quantify all three to arrive at the market value as of the valuation date.

Our clients include importers of automobiles and spare parts, and we regularly value the corporate fleets of enterprises as part of fixed asset revaluations and for lending purposes.

Questions and answers

Do you value trucks and special machinery? Yes — trucks, special and road machinery, and agricultural equipment are separate lines of our practice, each with its own valuation specifics.

Can the valuation report be used for bank collateral or leasing? Yes. Our vehicle valuation reports are accepted by Ukrainian banks and leasing companies.

How long does a vehicle valuation take? For typical passenger cars — usually two to three days after the documents are received. For fleets and specialised machinery, the timing depends on the number of units and is agreed individually.
