Valuation for the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine

When a Ukrainian bank is declared insolvent and withdrawn from the market, its assets pass under the management of the Deposit Guarantee Fund — and every asset must receive an independent valuation before sale. The purpose is to establish the real value of the assets for their sale or management, so as to satisfy the bank's creditors to the fullest extent possible.

The Kanzas company has valued the assets of insolvent banks for the Deposit Guarantee Fund. 20+ years of experience.

Scale of practice: Ukraine's largest bank-revaluation client — and an 8-of-3,000 selection

From 2015 to 2020, the Deposit Guarantee Fund was the largest client for bank revaluations in Ukraine, including loan portfolios: liquidation procedures required the valuation of loan portfolios, real estate, securities and other assets of insolvent banks.

Because the debts to be repaid were vast and the responsibility placed on the valuers was commensurate, the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine selected only 8 valuation firms out of more than 3,000. Over the course of our work with the Fund, our specialists valued the assets of more than 30 banks — under tight statutory deadlines. Few valuation firms anywhere, including those with global names, can point to participation in the revaluation of that many banks.

What is valued in Deposit Guarantee Fund procedures

  • loan portfolios;
  • bank real estate — from branch premises to foreclosed collateral on the balance sheet;
  • securities and corporate rights;
  • fixed assets, equipment, vehicles.

The specifics of insolvent-bank assets

Assets of banks in liquidation are frequently distressed: non-performing loans, contested collateral, illiquid real estate. Valuing them requires asset-by-asset analysis of quality, recovery probability and real demand — with substantiation that withstands the Deposit Guarantee Fund's requirements and creditor scrutiny.

Requirements and timing

Valuations are performed under Law No. 2658-III and the national standards, reflecting the Deposit Guarantee Fund's report requirements; timelines follow the Fund's procedural schedules.

We offer substantiated valuations of distressed assets, full compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines, and an individual approach to every portfolio. Write to us by email or messenger — we will discuss your task.
