Independent Vehicle Damage Valuation After Road Accidents

After a road accident, every party counts differently: the insurer wants to pay less, the party at fault wants to owe less, and the repair shop wants the job to cost more. An independent valuation exists so that the dispute gains a figure that belongs to none of the parties.

The Kanzas company performs independent vehicle damage valuations in accordance with Ukrainian valuation legislation and the current vehicle expert-examination methodology. 20+ years of experience — including corporate fleets.

What the valuation determines

  • repair cost — labour, parts and materials at market prices;
  • material damage — including diminished value (a repaired car is worth less than an undamaged one, and that loss is also recoverable);
  • economic feasibility of repair — where repair exceeds the car's value (constructive total loss), the damage equals the pre-accident value less the salvage value.

For insurers: when the payout is understated

If the offered settlement does not cover the repair, an independent report is lawful grounds to demand a revision — and, if refused, to recover the difference in court. This applies to motor third-party liability (MTPL) and comprehensive (hull) policies alike: the insurer calculates by its own methodology and in its own interest, but the dispute is settled by a substantiated market figure.

For court

The valuation report serves as evidence in road-accident damage cases — between participants, against insurers, and in recourse claims. The valuer provides explanations to the court where needed.

Documents

Vehicle registration certificate, accident documents (police report or European accident statement), the insurer's inspection reports (if any), photographs of the damage. Inspection is arranged in Kyiv or performed from photo and video materials — convenient for fleet operators and non-resident owners.

We offer a figure independent of all parties, realistic timelines and an individual approach to every client's circumstances. Write to us by email or messenger — we will discuss your case.

War-related vehicle damage — shelling, debris, downed drones — is a separate service: war damage valuation of vehicles.

FAQ

The insurer has already inspected the car — why an independent valuation? Their report protects the insurer's interests; an independent report protects yours.

Can a car be valued after repair? Yes, from damage photographs and documents.

How long is the report valid? As a rule, six months.
