Valuation for damage assessment

Valuation for damage assessment is the determination of the amount of material harm caused to property. Such a valuation is needed whenever the amount of losses must be documented: after flooding or fire, damage to a vehicle in a road accident, destruction caused by military action, or in disputes with an insurance company or recovery of damages through the courts. The result is documented in an official Valuation Report accepted by insurers, banks, courts and other institutions.

Damage is most often assessed using the cost approach — the cost of restoration repairs or replacement of the damaged property is calculated, taking its depreciation into account. The valuation is carried out by a certified valuation entity in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and the National Valuation Standards.
